Refill instruction for refillable ink cartridges Brother LC-985

For filling refillable cartridge for Brother LC-985 you need the tools below:

  • syringes wit needles
  • 30 ml of black ink
  • 20 ml of each colored ink (cyan, magenta, yellow)

Filling the refillable ink cartridges Brother LC-985:

Take the refillable cartridge out of your printer and put it on the table in front of you. There is a colored and a transparent plug at the back side of the cartridge (pict. 1). For refilling the cartridge, remove the transparent closing plug. Lead the ink syringe slowly into the refillable cartridge and fill it up to 1 cm under the upper edge (pict. 2).

Attention: Please make sure to lead the needle straight into the cartridge, because there are foils inside the cartridge, which should not be damaged. When you have filled the cartridges, close them with the closing plug again and reinsert them into your printer.
After inserting the refillable cartridges, remove the colored aeration plug (as shown in pict. 1). This plug equalizes the pressure inside the cartridge during the printing process, so there is no vacuum and the printer works in the right way.

Exclusion of Liability:

Neither printer manufacturers nor Octopus Office are liable for damages which result from a faulty or improper refilling. Since ink is water soluble, the bottles can be cleaned after usage and littered into the yellow bin. Syringes and needles (with protection cap) belong to the residual waste. As a matter of course, we are also willing to take back the empty bottles and the equipment. Please do not store the products within reach of children! When stored properly, the ink is durable up to 3 years.
