Refill instruction Brother LC-1220, LC-1240 using refill syringe
Take the cartridge Brother LC-1220, LC-1240 in your hand, as shown in picture 1. Take a small, flat srewdriver and lead it carefully under the side edge of the cartridge cap. Now you can loose the cap on this side with some slight lever movements. Please do the same on the other side (pict. 2). Now you can take off the cap.
Now you have to get the ink tank out of the cartridge casing. Take the screwdriver and lead it into the sideways guide rail. You can release the ink tank from the fastening with small lever movements one one side (pict. 3). Now you can remove the ink tank from the cartridge casing (pict. 4).
For refilling the ink tank, you have to cut the double wall of the ink tank and drill a smale hole in it. Take the cutter and cut off the doubled wall carefully (pict. 6). It may happen, that you have to cut out a piece of transparent foil. Please make sure, that you don´t cut out too much foil, because in that case, the tank won´t be impermeable anymore. Drill a filler opening (pict. 7). We recommend to drill a hole of about 1.5 mm in diameter, because the needles have a diameter of about 1 mm.
Lead the refill syringe into the ink tank. Put the syringe on the upper wall of the empty cartridge chamber (pict. 8). Inject the ink into the cartridge. When you have refilled the cartridge, you can close it with a drop of hot glue (pict. 9). Please make sure that the hot glue closes impermeable, if not, the ink comes out again.
When you have refilled the cartridge, you can reassemble it again. Just do the same procedure backwards and make sure that everything can be reassembled easily and without any force.
