Brother LC-129, LC-109 reset cartridge´s chip with the chip resetter
Brother LC-129, LC-109 inkjet cartridges are equipped with a chip that is responsible for displaying ink level information. Furthermore the chip identifies the cartridge towards the printer with its serial number. Set back the chip by using the available chip resetter and the refilled LC-129, LC-109 is working inside Your printer with proper ink level information again.
The use of the chip resetter on the original Brother LC-129, LC-109 is very simple. Position the cartridge that the ink port is pointing upwards. The resetter has a LED on its rounded side, hold the resetter this LED also pointing upwards. Furthermore the chip resetter has three contact pins, below these pins there is a round, blue switch that starts the reset programm.
The alignment of cartridge LC-129, LC-109 and the chip resetter is done manually. Place the inkjet cartridge and the resetter device together that the chip´s contacts meet with the three pins on the resetter. Press the resetter on the cartridge carefully, the pins slide in a bit into the housing of the resetter. The switch below the pins is activated by this and the reset of the chips starts.
The LED on the resetter starts flashing red . When the reset prgramming is done, the LED´s color changes to green. The chip on the Brother LC-129, LC109 is now set back and the refilled cartridge will have full ink level control functionality in Your printer again.
We recommend to reset the chip as long as the cartridge is empty. In case the chip is damaged You do not waste valuable refill ink.
