Brother LC-129 XL BK layout of the cartrige and inner parts
The original Brother LC-129 XL BK inkjet cartridge has a two-part housing. On the front cap there is fixed the inkjet chip. The ink port protrudes from the front cap and the air port is located in a round opening in this front part of the plastic housing. Typical for Brother: the black LC-129 inkjet cartridge has the little inspection window for ink level control too. It is located between the air port and ink port.
Inner parts of Brother LC-129 XL BK
There are two openings in each part of the plastic housing of LC-129. Little plastic hooks attached to the inner ink tank click into position in these openings. For disassembling the housing start with the front cap. Use a little screw driver to press the little hooks in the openings towards the rear section of the cartridge carefully. Repeat that for the end cap of the housing and afterwards the ink tank is separated from the other parts of the Brother LC-129 cartridge completely. The inner container for the ink has a solid, white plastic frame. The open walls are sealed with plastic foil welded on that frame. If You work at the inner tank directly with a disassembled housing - please be careful as the foils are very sensitive towards refill needles or other refill tools.
