Chip resetter for Brother LC-3211 LC-3213 original inkjet cartridges - reset ink level status to FULL
Each original Brother® ink cartridge LC-3211 LC-3213 has a chip to identify the cartridge in the printer and to display the ink level status of these cartridges. For these chips on the original Brother® cartridges LC-3217 LC-3219 there is a suitable chip resetter available. This resetter resets the ink level of an empty cartridge to the ink level status FULL.
The resetter for the chips on original Brother® LC-3211 LC-3213 cartridges is powered by USB. Conveniently, the USB socket on the resetter itself matches the end of a USB printer connection cable towrds the printer.
There is an LED on the resetter. When the power supply to the resetter is established, this LED flashes red - the resetter is ready for use then.
In case of a version of the resetter with a limited number of resets - the LED flashes red and green alternately - then the maximum number of resets with this limited resetter has been reached.
When resetting the chip on a LC-3211 or LC-3213 cartridge, the LED will switch from red to green after successful completion of the reset sequence.
There are 4 contact pins on the resetter. These provide the connection between the resetter and the cartridge chip. The positioning of the chip contacts on the contact pins is facilitated by the positioning guide, which surrounds the contact pins.
The resetter can reset the ink level "cartridge empty" (a red cross is located in the fill level bar of the respective cartridge) as well as the status "low ink level" (here present with the yellow cartridge) back to the status "Full".
To reset, remove the cartridge from the printer and carefully press the chip onto the contact pins on the resetter. Thanks to the positioning guide on the resetter, the cartridge only fits on the resetter in a certain way - so chip contacts and resetter contact pins meet each other for sure in the right way. After successful completion of the reset sequence, the LED on the resetter switches to shining green.
After resetting the ink chip, the cartridge must be refilled with suitable printer ink.
The cartridges refilled with suitable ink, whose chip has been reset, are put back into the printer and the cover flap is closed. On the display the printer asks whether the cartridges have been replaced? This is confirmed with YES.
In the ink level status display, these refilled LC-3211 and LC-3213 printer cartridges are shown with a full ink bar - marked with a question mark. In addition, the printer will show in the lower part of the display that the refilled and reset cartridges are no longer Brother® consumables in their original condition anymore. This is correct and does not restrict printing with these cartridges. The cartridges are fully functional.
