Reset the chip on original Canon PGI-9 using the suitable chip resetter
The cartridges Canon PGI-9 are equipped with a chip. It is responsible for the recognition of the cartridges in the printer canon Pixma IX 7000, Pixma MX 7600, Pixma PRO 9500 und PIXMA Pro 9500 Mark II and it provides the information for the ink level control. Use the available chip resetter that is programmed for original PGI-9 specifically and reset the chip on these cartridges. Your PGI-9 cartridges, refilled with an ink dedicated to this cartridge type and a resetted chip, are fully functional in Your printer.
We recommend to set back the cartridge´s chip while the cartridge PGI-9 is empty. The cartridges fit into the slot in the resetter only when the ink port is open and not closed by the orange cap. Another advantage of resetting the cartridge at that status is that You can check if the chip is still functional. This way You do not waste valuable refill ink on a damaged cartridge. Place the empty PGI-9 cartridge into the slot provided in the resetter and press down towards the contacts in the resetter´s base. The LED in the cartridge lights up shortly when ccontact is made. During th reset sequence the LED is shining constantly and swithces off as soon as the reprogramming is done. You can remove the cartridge from the resetter after the reset.
