Chip Resetter for Epson ink cartridges
Suitable for the following cartridge-types:
Epson 18 (T1801 black, T1802 cyan, T1803 magenta, T1804 yellow)
Epson 18XL (T1811 black, T1812 cyan, T1813 magenta, T1814 yellow)
Always refill the cartridge before resetting the chip.
Difference between cartridges refilled after reaching status and cartridges refilled before status “EMPTY“:
Cartridges which are refilled before reaching the status EMPTY“ can be set back by the resetter. At the end of the reset process the LED shines GREEN. These cartridges are recognized by the printer as EPSON cartridges and do provide ink level control.
More likely are cartridges that are completely empty. Cartridges which are refilled after reaching the status “EMPTY“ can be set back by the resetter. At the end of the reset process the LED shines GREEN as well. But these cartridges are recognized by the printer as ALTERNATIVE cartridges and the user has to confirm their use in a dialog. These cartridges also provide ink level control.
Resetting Epson 18, 18XL Ink cartridges
The chip resetter has no guide rail which would make chip positioning easier for you. Therefore you have to make sure that the upper 4 pins from the resetter conect with the upper 4 (golden) contact areas of the chip manually.
Attach the cartridge with ink outlet at the bottom to the chip resetter with LED up.
Carefully press the cartridge against the pins of the resetter. At the beginning the LED shines red to signal contact between resetter and chip. The process was succesful when the LED shines green shortly after.
If the LED still is shining red the process did not work. In this case try again.
