Filling CISS ecotank using Epson T6641, T6642, T6643, T6644
The outer tanks on Epson® ecotanks get filled when the printer is switched on for the first time or the ink inside a tank is used up. On a new printer out of the box the tanks are empty. First You unhook the container, that has the four tanks for the colors black, cyan, magenta, yellow inside, from the printer´s side. On that container there is a lid that covers the ink ports, which are closed by rubber plugs.
Pay attention to some details and filling ink using the original Epson® ink bottles is really easy. Take the plug out of the fill port - in this manual it is the tank for yellow T6644. It helps to remove only the plug of the color which You are filling at the moment. This way You are not going to fill the ink into a wrong tank on the Epson® ecotank L355.
The avoid ink stains You can wrap a piece of kitchen towel araound the fill port. It will soak up spilled ink drops.
We recommend the following steps for filling ink from the bottles:
1.) Remove the tip of the cap on Epson® T6641, T6642, T6643, T6644 by tiliting it sidewise a couple of times. 2.) Shake the bottle.
3.) Now unscrew the bottle´s cap and remove the seal covering the opening.
4.) Put the cap back on and tighten it.
Make sure one more time to fill the right color into the right tank!
5.) When filling a completely empty tank the full quantity of 70ml fits in the CISS tank on Epson ecotank L355.
6.) There is a line on the tank that shows the maximum fill level. When reaching that line close the tank using the rubber plug.
All tanks filled? Now You can close the container and hook it back onto the printer´s side again.
