Construction of the new HP 970 and 971 cartridges
In the spring of 2013 HP launched the new cartridges HP 970 and 971. They are by far the longest cartridges that HP ever constructed. They are 210 mm long and the width and height with 24x44 mm are not to be scoffed at.
They have to contain as much ink as needed to be a competition for toner cartridges and their scope of pages. Because that is the goal that HP and other manufacturers like Brother aim for. They are trying to construct InkJet printers that are as fast as laser printers and do not have the weaknesses of laser printers because of the InkJet technology.
As was to be expected the new cartridges are equipped with a chip as well. We can proceed from the assumption that all new HP cartridges are equipped with a chip. At least the chip prevents us from developing new compatible cartridges for a while. But up to the present every HP cartridge was refillable. In some cases the chip makes the process a little harder but we are working on these problems and have always solved them for you. See how to do it for these cartridges on the link below.
