HP 302, HP 302XL inkjet cartridges with integrated print head

The HP 302 inkjet cartridges are small printer cartridges with an sponge inside for storing the printer ink and a built in print head. They exist as black HP 302 cartridge and the tri-color HP 302 for the colors cyan, magenta and yellow. Both HP 302 cartridges can be bought as small standard yield cartridge or bigger XL-yield inkjet cartridge.
The air ports in the upper lid are covered by labels which state the cartridge model. Just the end of the air channels can be seen reaching out from under the cartridge label. At the HP 302 bottom side there is the integrated print head. The nozzle plate on the black HP 302 is quite slim and longish (1). The nozzle plate on the color HP 302 cartridge is wider as there are three lines of nozzles beside each other (2).

The chip on each HP 302 inket cartridge is responsible for the cartridge´s recognition inside the HP inkjet printer and it provides an individual serial number. Based on the chip´s iformation the ink level information is calculated. The matching contacts inside the printer are located in the cartridge compartment which has two slots. The chip and contacts inside the printer are sensitive components - please avoid touching them.
