Installation replacement chip Primera Bravo 4100 Disc Publisher inkjet cartridge
The original inkjet cartridges used in Primera Bravo 4100 Disc Publishers are equipped with a chip. The chip´s task is to communicate to the printer that the cartridge is suitable for this Primera printer and the chips also send information about the ink level. When the original Primera chip sends the message "ink depleted" this chip needs to be replaced by a new, alternative chip. With a new, alternative chip Your refilled cartridge will work again in the Bravo 4100 Disc Publisher.
The original Primera inkjet cartridges have the following codes 53604 = black, 53601 = cyan, 53602 = magenta and 53603 = yellow. You can purchase alternative replacement chips for Primera Bravo 4100 series at Octopus. The alternative chips are one time chips too. That means after each refill of a cartridge it is necessary to install a new alternative chip.
On the chip´s board there are several important details. Each alternative chip for Primers Bravo 4100 Disc Publisher has a three digit number code for the color. 604 = Black, 601 = Cyan, 602 = Magenta, 603 = Yellow - Please make sure to use the right color coded chip according to the color of the refilled LX-900 cartridge. Below that three digit color code each chip is either marked with the letter "A" or the letter "B". When You have used an A-chip and this one is empty, make sure to use a chip marked with "B" after the "A" chip. This ensures that Your refilled cartridge for Primera Bravo 4100 is recognized by the printer and You receive proper ink level information.
Installing a new replacment chip on a Primera Bravo 4100 Disc Publisher's inkjet cartridge
The inkjet chip on the original cartridge is located in a notch on the cartridge´s upper side and it is covered by the label. Remove the label carefully and keep it for later use. The cartridge label works well for keeping the new replacement chip fixed on the Primera cartridge. Inside the notch the orignal Primera chip is hold by a little plastic pin whose top has been melted into the shape of a mushroom cap to hold the chip.
Cut away the upper melted point of plastic pin. You can use any sharp tool or blade for this as long You do it carefully. After that You can take the empty, original Primera chip from the plastic pin and out of the notch.
Take a new, replacement chip suitable for Primera Bravo 4100 series and place it into the empty notch. The chip´s side with color code and the A or B version letter is facing upwards.
To fix the chip on the cartridge it is sufficien to use the original label that was removed at the beginning. If the label does not stick firmly to the cartridge anymore You can use any other simple tape for that purpose.
With a new chip on and suitable refill ink inside Your refilled cartridge is ready for printing in Your Primera Bravo 4100 Disc Publisher again.
