Refill Instructions for HP Color LaserJet CM 1310, 1312, CP 1215, 1510, 1515, 1518:
Read the instructions thoroughly before refilling. When refilling toner cartridges, we generally recommend wearing latex gloves and a fine particle mask.
Preparation for refilling:
As this cartridge is not equipped with a filler opening you need to prepare one. We recommend using a soldering iron for that. Burn a hole into the cartridge at the point shown in picture 1. Deburr the hole thoroughly and make sure that no plastic splinters get into the cartridge, because they could damage the mechanics. Before refilling the toner cartridge, you should pour out the rest of the toner powder or aspirate it with a toner powder vacuum cleaner. Otherwise, the physical and chemical characteristics of the old and the new toner powders could lead to clotting.
Refilling the HP Color LaserJet CM 1310, 1312, CP 1215, 1510, 1515, 1518 cartridges:
Screw the funnel onto the toner bottle to facilitate refilling. Carefully shake the bottle and fill the powder into the cartridge (picture 2). By holding the cartridge slightly sideways you can fill in the entire amount of refill toner.
After refilling the cartridge, you need to reseal it. We recommend using fabric adhesive tape for this purpose. Cut a piece of tape to size and glue it onto the filler opening (picture 3). Make sure that the opening is sealed tightly and toner powder does not trickle from the opening.
Exchanging the chip for HP Color LaserJet CM 1310, 1312, CP 1215, 1510, 1515, 1518 cartridges:
As the HP toner cartridge is equipped with a toner chip, you have to exchange it after each refill. The toner chip monitors the filling level of the cartridge. When the chip signals that the cartridge is empty you need to refill the cartridge and replace the chip.
Carefully cut into the guiding rail with a cutter knife (picture 4). Now you can remove the chip (picture 5) and replace it with a new one. Your cartridge CM 1310, 1312, CP 1215, 1510, 1515, 1518 is now refilled correctly and the chip is replaced; you can reinsert it into your printer.
Safety instructions for the handling of refill toners
Refill toner and toner powder may cause serious health problems if not handled carefully. We recommend always using breathing protection or suction chambers while filling toner cartridges. Furthermore, toner powder and refill toner can be highly flammable with an appropriate oxygen mixture. Please note as well, that you should touch the photoconductor drum in no case or expose it to direct sunlight. This could lead to faulty print-outs. Octopus Office will not take any responsibility for success or failure of the described procedure.
