Instruction for refilling Samsung CLP-620, CLP-670
While filling toner cartridges we generally recommend our customers to wear latex gloves, so the drum unit won´t get damaged. Furthermore, it is suggested to wear a fine particle mask while filling the drum unit. Please read this instruction carefully before you start refilling.
Preparation before refilling:
Put the toner cartridge carefully on the table. Please release the small marked springs on both sides of the cartridge (pictures 1 and 2).
Accordingly, you have to expose and detach the full floating axle. For that purpose, you have to cut off the plastic coating with a cutter. After that, you can remove the axles carefully with a small tongs. For visualisation, please look at the pictures 3, 4, 5 and 6.
When you have removed the springs and the axles on both sides, you can separate the cartridge halves from each other (picture 7). For the filling you need the half of the cartridge without the drum unit. Remove the closing plug. Take a small, flat screwdriver and lever off the plug (picture 8).
Before refilling the toner cartridge, you should pour out the rest of the toner powder or exhaust it with an aspirator for toner powders. Otherwise the physical and chemical characteristics of the old and the new toner powders could lead to a formation of clots.
Refilling of the toner cartridge Samsung CLP-620, CLP-670:
Take the bottle which contains the toner and screw the funnel on it. This will simplify the refilling. Fill in the refill toner (picture 9). When you have refilled the cartridge, you can reinsert the closing plug again.
ATTENTION: The filler opening has to be absolutely leak-free. Through patting iz over a white piece of paper, you can check the impermeability. There should not trickle any toner out of the opening.
Instruction for exchange of the chip of the toner cartridge Samsung CLP-620, CLP-670:
As the Samsung toner cartridge is equipped with a toner chip, you have to exchange it after each filling. The toner chip checks the filling level of the toner powder. That means that you have to replace the chip when it signalizes „empty“. If you don´t do this, you are not able to print anymore. For exchanging the chip, you have to expose it. For that purpose, you have to cut the synthetic coating (picture 10). Afterwards, you can take out the old toner chip and replace it with the new one (picture 11).
After you have refilled the cartridge and exchanged the chip, you can reassemble the toner cartridge. Just do the same pre-described procedure backwards. Please note that everything can be put together easily and without using any force. Accordingly, you can reinsert the cartridge back into the printer. The first print-outs may be of inadequate quality, because the toner powder has to dispense again. Afterwards, print-outs should be of usual quality.
Safety instructions for the handling of refill toners
Refill toner and toner powder may cause serious health problems if not handled carefully. We recommend always using breathing protection or suction chambers while filling toner cartridges. Furthermore, toner powder and refill toner can be highly flammable with an appropriate oxygen mixture. Please note as well, that you should touch the photoconductor drum in no case or expose it to direct sunlight. This could lead to faulty print-outs.
