The Canon PGI-2500 cartridge is equipped with a chip. When the cartridge is empty, the chip signals to the printer that the cartridge is empty. If this message is ignored, the filling level display no longer works, which can ultimately result in damage to the print head.
Therefore, you should replace the original chip with this auto reset chip. When the printer is switched off, the auto reset chip memorises the filling level; it resets automatically (when the cartridge is "empty") when the cartridge is removed from the printer for 10 seconds.
Exchanging the auto reset chip:
You can exchange the original chip on the cartridge against the auto reset chip for the Canon PGI-2500 cartridge simply by removing the old chip and putting the auto reset chip in its place. You can then refill your Canon cartridge as often as you want. The chip is automatically reset when the cartridge is inserted in the printer, without the need for a chip resetter.
This chip is not an original product and was not produced by the printer manufacturer. The names of manufacturers and trademarks are indicated for identification purposes only and are the property of their respective owners.
