The chip determines the useful life of each Lexmark 100 XL, 100 XLA magenta cartridge. By exchanging the chip, the cartridge is reset and will produce the same printing performance as usual. The chip is useable once.
Exchanging the chip for Lexmark 100 XL, 100 XLA:
The Lexmark 100 XL, 100 XLA cartridge has to be exchanged when the printer or the computer shows the message "Ink cartridge empty". We recommend exchanging the chip immediately when you refill the cartridge. This way, the cartridge will not fail suddenly during printing.
